FORM: Weeping deciduous tree, usually grafted onto a 1 to 2 metre standard. A graceful tree with slender branches to ground level.
FOLIAGE:Â Green foliage turns yellow in Autumn
FLOWERS: Insignificant
BARK: White, papery bark
DESCRIPTION:Â Attractive weeping, deciduous tree with long sweeping branches.
LANDSCAPE USES:Â Great for parks, streetscapes or as a feature tree in a larger garden. Fine shallow roots make it suitable for small gardens.
TOLERANCES:Â Adapts to most soils but prefers a cool, well-drained, moist soil. Frost resistant but drought tender. Prefers full sun to part shade. Protect from hot winds.
TREE CARE: Responds well to hard annual pruning to form an umbrella shape. Prune very early in winter or late autumn to avoid sap loss.
