FLOWERS:Â Creamy white trumpet shaped flowers appear in summer, the throat has spots of purple and yellow and they are formed in open pyramidal spikes. This is then followed by long bean like pods.
DESCRIPTION:Â Large bright green heart shaped leaves turn to yellow in Autumn. In late Spring /early Summer, the tree has creamy white trumpet shaped flowers, the throat has spots of purple and yellow and they are formed in open pyramidal spikes. This is then followed by long bean like pods, changing from green to brown.
LANDSCAPE USES:Â An impressive shade tree, suitable for medium to larger gardens or avenue planting.
TOLERANCES:Â Plant in full sun, requires acid soil and prefers warm temperate climate
TREE CARE:Â Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
