FOLIAGE: Dark green foliage turns brilliant reddish-purple-scarlet in Autumn.
FLOWERS: Rosy pink, petal-like pointed bracts in Spring.
DESCRIPTION: A large elegant shrub or small deciduous tree with spectacular spring and autumn display. In late spring open spreading horizontal branches are covered in large rosy pink, petal-like, pointed bracts. In autumn the deep green foliage turns brilliant reddish purple to scarlet. Mature trees produce strawberry-like fruits.
LANDSCAPE USES: Ideal specimen tree for a smaller garden.
TREE CARE: Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
