FORM: Vase shape becoming rounded, multi-stemmed
FOLIAGE: Oval, dark green leaves become a showy orangey red in autumn
 FLOWERS and FRUIT: White bracts appear in spring. Pinkish red edible fruits appear in summer
 BARK: Mottled grey and tan bark exfoliates on mature trees
 GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast
 DESCRIPTION: Due to colour, Dogwood makes a great feature tree for both flowering and foliage accent. Its shape is also good as a canopy tree.
 LANDSCAPE USES: Feature, mass planting, shrubby border
 TOLERANCES: This tree will grow in a broad variety of soil types. Although humus rich soil is preferred it is not necessary for the soil to be well drained. Prefers a full sun to part shade position. Leaf scorch can occur in sites with full sun combined with hot winds.
 TREE CARE: Appreciates regular watering during summer. No serious insect or disease problems.
