Also known as Chinese Gooseberries. The male plant is used only as a pollinator and does not produce fruit. It is a vigorous growing plant and a strong trellis is required to support this. It will also require hard pruning to keep growth under control.
POLLINATION: needs a male plant for pollination. Pollination rate of 1 male plant to 7 female plants
TREE CARE: Plant in a sunny, well drained position. Plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Grow on a trellis to support growth, prune to keep under control and encourage fruit production.
