DESCRIPTION: A reliable, upright growing evergreen variety of Magnolia with large, glossy green leaves and a conical growth habit. A hardy and versatile plant, tolerant of a range of conditions and relatively pest & disease free.
TOLERANCES: Will tolerate a warm, full sun position but will tolerate part-shade. Tolerant of heat & low levels of frost. Responds well to Winter pruning if shaping is required. Prefers moist, fertile & well-draining soil that is slightly acidic. Some protection from strong winds is preferred. A annual application of fertilizer in spring, as well as mulching and watering during the dryer months, is recommended, especially when the plant is first establishing itself. Once established, Magnolia Exmouth is a very tough plant.
TREE CARE: Prune after flowering to maintain shape, they will tolerate a hard prune if necessary, recommended in Winter.. An annual application of slow-release fertilizer is recommended. Mulch is Spring & keep the roots moist, especially when the tree is establishing itself.
