DESCRIPTION: Frantoio is the most noted olive oil variety of Tuscany, Italy, and one of the most highly acclaimed oil varieties in the world. The variety is self pollinating with high, constant productivity.
TOLERANCES: Resistant to extreme cold including snow. Prefers a humus rich soil with good drainage but will tolerate poor, low nutrient soils. Performs best in cool winters and hot dry. humid free summers. Tolerant of frost, drought, and coastal conditions. Plant in full sun out of strong winds.
TREE CARE:Â Generally very low maintenance. Can be kept trimmed to hedge if required. Stake well in windy areas. Feed in early spring or summer with an all purpose fertiliser or one specifically for fruiting trees.
