FRUIT:Â Very unusual large fruit. Red over yellow background, the skin has a hard leathery feel, opens to reveal segmented areas with shiny red seeds covered in sweet red thick juice.
POLLINATION: Self pollinating
MATURITY:Â Late April to May
DESCRIPTION:Â Used for fresh fruit and juices and becoming more popular in cooking. Pomegranates are very rich in antioxidants, iron and vitamins A, C and E.
TOLERANCES:Â Suitable to grow in temperate to hot climates.
TREE CARE:Â Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
