FORM:Â Dense small tree or shrub. Can be trained as a standard from a young age.
FOLIAGE:Â Glossy dark green and ovate. New growth is lime green.
FLOWERS and FRUIT: Small white flower heads appear in spring followed by green cherry like fruits that mature to red., dark purple then black in late summer or early autumn
BARK:Â Blackish brown
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
LANDSCAPE USES:Â Hedging – formal or informal, specimen
TOLERANCES:Â Prefers a well drained, moist soil in a sunny or partly shady position but will tolerate dry periods and frost once established.
TREE CARE:Â Responds well to pruning. Fertilise in early spring with a complete fertiliser.
