Prunus x subhirtella pendula – Alba Weeping Cherry

FORM: Weeping variety grafted onto a standard at either 1.2m or 1.8m
FOLIAGE: Lustrous dark green, up to 10 cm long with finely serrate margins. Becomes yellow, orange and red in autumn.
FLOWERS: Doible, white flowers to 1.3 cm diameter, opening early to mid-spring in two to five flowered umbels.
BARK: Brownish-grey with many lenticels.
GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast
DESCRIPTION: A delightful small weeping tree providing a prolific early spring display of white flowers before the leaves appear. Suitable as a feature tree in gardens and small parks.
LANDSCAPE USES:
TOLERANCES: Quite adaptable to a varied site conditions, but prefers moist, well drained fertile soils and a position receiving full sun to part-shade. Flowers best in full sun. Tolerates frost
TREE CARE: May require some pruning to maintain shape
