FRUIT: Very large golden yellow fruit, shaped similar to a large pear with a rich honey perfume.
POLLINATION: Self pollinating
MATURITY: Early April
DESCRIPTION: Not usually eaten as fresh fruit as it is too acid, but stewed it becomes soft and tender with a pink color and has a delicious flavour and aroma. Also used in preserves and jellies.
TOLERANCES: Prefers a sheltered position away from winds. Suitable in temperate climates, a hardy vigorous growing tree.
TREE CARE: Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
