Robinia Mop Top (Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Umbraculifera’)
The Robinia Mop Top is your classic ‘ball on a stick’ tree with lush, bright green foliage. This variety displays yellow Autumn colour and is not known to produce flowers. Robinia Mop Tops do have a vigorous root system so are not recommended around pools or pipework, see below for other Mop Top varieties that may be more suitable.

FORM:Â Dense, rounded standard. Generally grafted on a 1.8m or 1.2m standard.

LANDSCAPE USES: Robinia Mop Tops can be useful in small gardens and narrow areas, particularly for screening where space is limited and instant results are needed, due to their fast growth habit. Perfect for pleaching due to their straight trunks and uniform growth habit. Suitable as a street tree, driveway & avenue trees and for formal gardens.
TOLERANCES:Â Tolerant to most well-drained soil including poor, dry, and compacted situations. Tolerant of wind, pollution, frost, drought, and coastal conditions. Prefers full sun to part shade positions.
TREE CARE:Â Pruning is generally not required to maintain shape.
